Senate Dems seek to end cybersecurity impasse

Senate Democrats are working to end an impasse over cybersecurity legislation. Two competing bills are stalled.
The Hill reported that Democrats know they don’t have 60 votes for a bill backed by Sens. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) and Susan Collins (R-Maine). It differs from a bill backed by Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) over whether to regulate some cyber practices in the private sector. Democrats are said to be willing to modify the regulation language in the hopes of attracting some Republican votes.
Industry groups are also weighing in to see if the Lieberman-Collins bill can be modified.
