With any new technology, policy usually comes after initial adoption. With mobile computing and apps, agencies are using pilots to inform policy development.
Federal News Radio surveyed 28 agencies on whether they have a formal mobile policy and whether it includes the idea of letting employees bring-their-own devices to work. We heard back from 21 of them, many providing more details on the status of their efforts. The results: Nearly every agency has or is developing a mobile policy and most also are considering a Bring-Your-Own-Device strategy.
