Candidates for the jobs of Veterans Affairs Secretary and head of the Veterans Health Administration have already withdrawn before they got to the Senate confirmation process. That may mean it will be a long time before Acting VA Secretary Sloan Gibson and the acting leadership at VHA get permanent replacements.
