Welcome to the #FedFeed, a daily collection of federal ephemera gathered from social media and presented for your enjoyment.
Federal agencies may have found a method of reaching out to millennials that works. The Office of Personnel Management is the latest agency to hold a Twitter chat, following in the footsteps of the Department of Labor and the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.
OPM was promoting the student loan forgiveness program available to federal employees, and was joined by Federal Student Aid (@FAFSA), an office of the Department of Education.
Welcome to the #PSLFtoFEDS chat! Thank you @FAFSA for participation. pic.twitter.com/lLGAsJXot2

Hundreds of people tweeted questions about the policy to the two offices under the hashtag #PSLFtoFEDS, which did their best to keep up with the deluge of questions. It would be interesting to know if the popularity stemmed from the format or the subject.
Great questions! The team is answering as quickly as we can! #PSLFtoFEDS pic.twitter.com/cGebLFMIfN — OPM (@USOPM) October 25, 2016
The chat lasted for a little more than an hour.
Thanks for the great #PSLFtoFeds questions! We’re out of time today. If your question wasn’t answered, we’ll get to them throughout the week https://t.co/to4OjFuf6u — Federal Student Aid (@FAFSA) October 25, 2016

@ToxTweets We can’t speculate about the future of the program. Congress would have to change the law. #PSLFtoFEDS — Federal Student Aid (@FAFSA) October 25, 2016
@ToxTweets Those loan types could qualify if you consolidate though: https://t.co/PZOCPtWZsZ #PSLFtoFEDS — Federal Student Aid (@FAFSA) October 25, 2016
