America’s food safety system is plagued with problems — from spinach to tomatoes to peanut butter and, now, pistachios.

The FDA is warning us to not eat any foods containing pistachios until they can trace the source of a possible salmonella contamination.

A new report released by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and Trust for America’s Health says there are ways for the federal government to make our food safer.

We got an outline of the problems and solutions from Serena Vinter, the Senior Researcher at the Trust for America’s Health.
