Corporation for Public Broadcasting

**Mission:** The Corporation for Public Broadcasting is a private non-profit corporation created by Congress in 1967. It provides federal funding to more than 1,500 locally owned and operated public television and radio stations, including National Public Radio (NPR) and the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS).

**Budget:** $445 million in appropriations

**FTEs:** 100 employees (because CPB is a private, non-profit corporation, its employees are not federal employees)
