DOD’s Tricare Management Activity is not only one of the world’s biggest health care providers. It is also a big acquisition organization. At the Fed SMC conference in Cambridge, Maryland, Tom Temin spoke with Michael Fischetti, director of acquisition management and support at Tricare. He gave an update on procurement activities, including a plan to increase the skills of those who buy medical services. He started with an explanation of some new rules covering when agencies can use one another’s acquisition contracts.
