Bethesda expected to get hit hard by BRAC traffic

Traffic in the Route 355 corridor around NIH is only expected to get worse after the transition of employees from Walter Reed to the National Naval Medical Center.

Traffic around the National Institutes of Health’s campus in Bethesda can be a mess during the morning and afternoon rush. And that’s only expected to get worse after BRAC relocations take affect. Walter Reed Army Medical Center is closing and relocating to the National Naval Medical Center across the street from NIH.

WTOP reporter Kate Ryan talked to Montgomery County executives and NIH personnel about the BRAC moves and their impact on the Route 355 corridor as part of our special report, BRAC Impact: A Federal News Radio and WTOP in-depth series.
