- NIST is looking for partnerships with the private sector to secure Internet of Things devices. The National Institute of Standards and Technology invited companies to provide products and technical expertise to support and demonstrate security platforms for the Mitigating IoT-Based DDoS Building Block. - Eligible Colonels in the Air Force can now volunteer to serve after the active-duty retirement time of 30 years. 50 members on the branch’s Line of the Air Force Colonel Continuation Board, up for retirement this year or next, will be offered to stay on active duty for an additional three years. - The Homeland Security Department’s Inspector General is looking into how Bronze Star LLC was awarded over $30 million in contracts for disaster supplies in Puerto Rico. The company failed to deliver thousands of tarps to cover damaged houses. The Federal Emergency Management Agency cancelled the contract without paying any money. (Associated Press)
