A company that monitors peer-to-peer file sharing networks has discovered a security breach involving Marine One, according to WTOP Radio.

A defense contractor in Bethesda installed a file sharing program on one of the computer systems. Information about the design, cost, and other sensitive information concerning Marine One on the hard drive were found on an IP address in Tehran, Iran.

Sam Hopkins, chief technology officer and co-founder of Tiversa, a Pennsylvania-based company who discovered the breach, tells WTOP that he sees thousands of cases like this.

“As bad as this is it probably rates as a 4 out of 10,” he says.

Hopkins says government officials have been notified. In addition, they know who accessed the information overseas.
