Mobile devices add to cybersecurity challenges

Threat Post reports that employees who opt to use their own mobile devices for work are creating cyber vulnerabilities.

Are smartphones and tablets like the iPad posing a security risk at your agency?

Security firm Securosis says yes. These devices connect to corporate resources and make the already impossible job of securing data even harder, Threat Post reports.

Securosis says these mobile devices are especially problematic because employees are bucking agency’s efforts to work on older notebooks, desktops and outdated mobile phones.

If agencies prohibit access to the services employees want to use for their jobs, the employees end up ignoring you and doing it from their own phone or netbook with their own data connection.
