On average, a single data breach cost organizations last year cost $7.2 million.

On average, a single data breach cost organizations last year cost $7.2 million.

The latest U.S. Cost of Data Breach report finds that amount increased seven percent from 2009.

Inforsecurity.com reports that organizations need to do more to increase security. More than 40 percent of the breaches were caused by company or employee negligence.
