IT workers lack control in mobile cybersecurity

For cybersecurity, your biggest vulnerability just might be right there in your hand - your mobile devices.

For cybersecurity, your biggest vulnerability just might be right there in your hand – your mobile devices.

That’s the assessment from mobile device management company Mformation. It found IT security organizations are cognizant of what they need to do to secure their networks. But when it comes to mobile devices, they found that IT workers are largely flying blind.

The company surveyed 300 CIO’s from the US and the UK and they found that 78 percent of CIO’s don’t know what mobile devices are connected to their networks.

And CSO Online reports, 77 percent of companies don’t know what data is on these smartphones.

Even worse – the world is only getting more challenging for security workers. It’s getting more mobile. And, you probably heard the iPad 2 gets released today.

Mformation says if IT professionals don’t get a handle on these mobile devices soon it could leave the networks open for attack.
