The sophisticated cyber attack on security company RSA has Senate Republicans worried.

The attack targeted RSA’s SecurID product. And the cyber crooks got away with confidential data about products that make it harder for people to break into your networks even if they steal your passwords.

Senator Susan Collins from Maine says the federal government is as equally prone to cyber attacks as the private sector and that Congress should act now before it’s too late.

Senator Collins says the need for more comprehensive cybersecurity legislation is more urgent than ever.

The Hill reports the executive branch agencies and Congress are probed or attacked an average of 1.8 billion times per month.
