IRS awards $68 million contract for database services

InSysCo received a multi-year contract to help the tax agency move to a data-centric organization.

The IRS awarded software development company InSysCo a multi-million dollar contract to provide database services.

InSysCo received the five-year, $68 million contract Monday through the IRS’ Total Information Processing Support Services (TIPSS-4) technology procurement program.

InSysCo will provide the IRS with data delivery services, including the CADE-2 — the electronic tax processing program the agency uses and updates daily.

Acentia, who owns InSysCo, said the contract will change the IRS into what it calls a “data centric” organization, with new databases and networks. Acentia said in addition to the five-year contract, it already assists the IRS with software development and modernization.

The award marks the fifth TIPSS-4 contract award of 2014, with previous contracts devoted to cyber security and programming.
