If you climb the stairs to the very crown of the Statue of Liberty — and you can for the first time since 9/11 — you might be impressed by the spiral staircase itself. The National Park Service described the contractor’s work on the staircase as sleek, elegant and magnificent. That work was done by a company recently named the Small Business Administration’s National Prime Contractor of the Year. Joining us to talk about the award is Kevin O’Brien, vice president and co-owner of Kalimex — the staircase miracle worker.
