• Your kids are going online at younger ages. Its YOUR job to watch what they’re doing, where they’re going, and with whom they’re chatting. The Better Business Bureau has released cybersecurity guidance for you and your children. The document runs more than 50-pages, but you know the drill: Check the privacy policies on websites your kids are visiting and use site blocking if necessary. Find out what information your children are posting online and stress the importance of keeping personal information private.
• Big Patch Tuesday coming this month from Microsoft. The company plans to fix a zero-day flaw in its online Help and Support Center. The bug was discovered by a Google engineer and has been exploited by malicious hackers. It affects users of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. Also to be patched is a display driver bug that could permit remote execution. In all, Microsoft will issue four bulletins, three of them critical tomorrow. They’ll also apply to Microsoft Office.
