A new email attack is using the FDIC’s name to trick consumers into giving personal information and downloading malicious malware. The FDIC is warning banks to be on the look out. The phony messages claim the FDIC’s has suspended deposit insurance on their account because of Patriot Act violations. The FDIC is asking anyone who receives the fraudulent emails to send them a message email them at Alert@FDIC.gov
