New boundries set for Walter Reed

Revised boundries for the Walter Reed campus have been announced.

The State Department, the Army, and the District of Columbia have worked out new boundaries for Walter Reed. The Washington Business Journal reports DC will get all the street frontage along Georgia Avenue at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center campus. They renegotiated the boundaries after the General Services Administration gave up its right to 34 acres of the campus. Walter Reed workers will be leaving the Georgia Avenue location for the Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, possibly as early as next year, as part of the Base Realignment and Closing process.
