DHS cyber staff excepted in case of shutdown

DHSers who perform cybersecurity functions would not be furloughed during a government shutdown, including contractors.

Cyber staff at Homeland Security will NOT be furloughed. NextGov reports that if you are performing cybersecurity functions for DHS, you are expected to work. The concern is that adversaries might see a government shutdown as an opportune time to infiltrate government systems. Some government consultants say DHS might not have to bring in more staff…as long as it retains its cybersecurity workforce.
