Paper checks will no longer be an option for Americans applying for federal benefits like social security. Come May 1, the Department of the Treasury is doing away with the paper option. Checks for new applicants will be handed out electronically. David Lebryk, commissioner of the Financial Management Service at Treasury told us how the new system is affecting his agency and why the decision was made to make the switch.
