How does industry view procurement reforms?
Soloway, whose group represents scores of government contractors, discussed how federal procurement reforms have been viewed on the industry side.
The Obama Administration has launched a slew of procurement and acquisition reforms, which are still being digested by both contractors and the government.
One of the most vocal participants in the ongoing debate has been the Professional Services Council, which is made up mostly of IT contractors. Stan Soloway, the president and CEO of the PSC, moderated a panel discussion at the conference titled “Future of Acquisition Policy-Charting the Course for Success.” 
Soloway also shared his perspective on the tenure of Office of Federal Procurement Policy Administrator Dan Gordon, who announced earlier this month, he would step down.
More broadly, Soloway gave his assessment of the state of government-industry relations. Are the final rules for “inherently governmental” acceptable to industry? And how helpful has mythbusting — one of Gordon’s key initiatives — been in bolstering communication between the government and contractors?
