Man charged with hacking into Energy Department networks
After breaking into the network, the man allegedly tried to sell access to DoE for $50,000.
The Justice Department is going after a 23-year-old man it said hacked into Energy Department networks.
After breaking into the network, the man allegedly tried to sell access to DoE for $50,000. But, as Government Computer News reported, he tried to sell it to an undercover FBI agent.
The suspect also hacked into networks at the University of Massachusetts, RNK Telecommunications and several advertising agencies. The Justice Department charged him with conspiracy, computer fraud and other charges. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison.
