As part of Federal News Network’s coverage of the 2018 Association of the U.S. Army conference in Washington, D.C., this week, Army Secretary Mark Esper said he wants the Army to move away from a personnel system that uses cookie-cutter career paths to a more flexible version that optimizes individual talent. Lt. Gen. Thomas Seamands, the Army’s deputy chief of staff for personnel, joined Federal Drive with Tom Temin at AUSA to talk more about the Army’s personnel reform plans.
