The National Treasury Employees Union has canceled its planned candlelight vigil at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial this evening due to the cold weather.

With temperatures forecast to plunge into the twenties and teens by the time the 6 pm event took place, officials decided to cancel the event rather than risk the health of its members.

NTEU is holding its annual legislative conference here in Washington this week.
