“As a young federal employee, I feel that my knowledge and my quickness in learning are overlooked by management. Though the older employees may come with more experience, their experience may be overdue or “old” or antiquated. I am the ‘go-to’ employee for my manager and the older, supposedly more seasoned employees and I get my job done twice as fast and with accuracy; however, when it comes time for promotion, I feel like because of my age, I don’t receive the same consideration as someone who is older.”
