The Pentagon says it will send Abrams tanks into the battle against insurgents in Afghanistan. The move follows a public dispute with Afghan President Hamid Karzai, who wants international coalition forces to take a lower profile. The Marine Corps says a company of 14 M1A1 Abrams tanks along with 115 Marines to crew them will be deployed to southwest Afghanistan next month.
