The President’s 2012 budget proposal calls for major cuts across government. But, the Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano says she actually needs an increase in funding for cybersecurity, Gov Info Security reports.

Napolitano testified to Congress that in order to safeguard cyberspace, the agency will need to identify and reduce vulnerabilities in our nation’s key cyber networks.

And to achieve that goal. Napolitano wants to dedicate more than $24 million to provide high-quality and cost effective virtual cybersecurity training and education.
