The White House has named Erik Fanning as the new under secretary of the Air Force.
The White House has named Erik Fanning as the new under secretary of the Air Force. He’s already around the corner in the Pentagon, where he’s been deputy under secretary of the Navy since 2009.
Before joining the administration, Fanning worked at the Commission on the Prevention of Weapons of Mass Destruction, Proliferation and Terrorism. Before that he worked for a group called Business Executives for National Security
A lawyer, Fanning was senior associate at Robinson, Lerer and Montgomery in New York. He started his public career in the Clinton administration, where he held a variety of jobs including special assistant in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Fanning also spent a few years on the Hill as a research assistant and professional staff member for the House Armed Services Committee.
