“Always be open to an opportunity. You never know which one will help you grow,” Dr. Stacey Dixon, deputy director of the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA), told Women of Washington hosts Aileen Black and Gigi Schumm.
Dixon encouraged the next generation to have the confidence to try the unexpected. It could lead to great experiences and opportunities.
“Know yourself, your strengths and your weaknesses so you can go beyond” she said.
Dixon shared her journey from growing up in Washington, D.C., to IARPA overseeing high-risk, high-payoff research that tackles some of the most difficult Intelligence Community challenges.
