Federal CIO Vivek Kundra pushing agencies harder toward the cloud

The move to the cloud in the Federal government is happening, but not as fast as Kundra would like.

The move to the cloud in the Federal government is happening, but not as fast as Federal CIO Vivek Kundra would like. He talked about how to move faster, and touted the benefits of the move – both technological and financial – at an event at the Brookings Institution last Wednesday.

The Brookings website says this event

“examines the economic benefits of cloud computing for local, state, and federal government. Federal Chief Information Officer Vivek Kundra delivered a keynote address on the role of the government in developing and promoting cloud computing. Brookings Vice President Darrell West moderated a panel of experts and detailed the findings in his paper, “Saving Money through Cloud Computing,” which analyzes its governmental cost-savings potential.”
