What’s the best part of working in your FEB area?

Cost of living is very low in this area. There is excellent, affordable housing. Workers have a strong Midwestern work ethic! We have major league football, baseball and a new soccer franchise. Midwestern people are very friendly, helpful and enjoy meeting others.

What is the biggest drawback of working in your FEB area?

We do not have oceans or mountains. But we do have many lakes, parks, etc.

What’s the one piece of advice you would give a fed moving to your area?

You will love it! Just be prepared to need clothes for all four seasons!

In a word, describe feds in your area.

How are feds perceived in your area and how does that affect morale?

The federal government is the largest employer in the metropolitan area and we are all respected and received in this area.

What’s the average commute for feds in your FEB area, or your personal commute?

15 miles (SWAG)

Is the distance from D.C. a blessing or a curse?

Blessing.

What’s your area’s can’t miss attraction?

Kansas City has more fountains than Rome! We also have wonderful shopping, new Sprint Area and the adjacent Kansas City Power & Light Entertainment District, a fabulous new Performing Arts Center that opens in the fall, etc. “Everything is up to date in Kansas City!”
