More than $2 billion as been paid — so far — to Vietnam veterans and their survivors who filed claims related to Agent Orange.

Last summer, the Veterans Affairs Department added more diseases to the list of those presumed to be related to Agent Orange exposure and also launched a website where people could file a claim electronically.

About 89,000 veterans and their survivors have signed up, according to the Defense Department”.

Potentially eligible veterans include those who were exposed in Vietnam between 1962 and 1975. It also includes veterans who were exposed along the demilitarized zone in Korea between 1968 and 1971.

Veterans who were exposed to herbicide tests and storage at any U.S. military base are also eligible.
