GAO: More efficiency possible in IRS tax return process

GAO\'s James White describes the report findings on the 2010 tax filing season.

Every year the IRS processes roughly 139 million individual tax returns and gives about $312 billion in returns.

To help gauge IRS effots, the Government Accountability Office was tasked to look at the IRS’s goals and prior years’ performance processing individual tax returns, answering telephones, and delivering Web and face-to-face services.

James White, the Director of Tax Issues for GAO, joined the DorobekINSIDER, to outline the GAO’s report findings
