DHS and GSA choose Booz Allen and HP Enterprise Services to provide tools and services under two task orders under the Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation pro...
Booz Allen Hamilton won its second major task order under the Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation program, and this one is more than two times as large as the first one.
Multiple sources confirmed that the General Services Administration and the Homeland Security Department, which runs CDM, awarded Booz Allen the 2D task order to provider cyber tools and services to the departments of Health and Human Services and Treasury, GSA, the Social Security Administration, NASA and the Postal Service.
The contract is worth $82.9 million over three years. Booz Allen’s first award, under Group B was worth $39.3 million over three years and included seven agencies.
Sources said Booz Allen will implement similar tools for these six agencies as they are for DHS: IBM Big Fix, ForeScout CounterAct and Splunk Enterprise.
Sources also said HP Enterprise Services came out on the winning end of the Group 2E task order, winning the $21.7 million award, after losing out previously in this round HPES was unsuccessful in bidding for Group A and then had its protest rejected by the Government Accountability Office.
Group 2E includes: the departments of Education and Housing and Urban Development, and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the National Science Foundation and the Small Business Administration.
HPES was one of the first four vendors out of the gate to win a $60 million deal to provide 33 agencies with endpoint asset management and software assurance tools.
Sources said GSA and DHS remain on track to award the Group 2C task order before Oct. 1 for tools and services for five agencies — the departments of Commerce, Justice, Labor and State and the U.S. Agency for International Development.
DHS and GSA expect to release the RFQ for Group 2F, which includes mainly small agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Federal Election Commission, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the Federal Housing Finance Agency, the Millennium Challenge Corporation, the National Archives and Records Administration, the Office of Government Ethics, the Broadcasting Board of Governors and Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency, during the first quarter of fiscal 2016.
The flurry of awards come as DHS begins the roll out of the CDM dashboard this month. The dashboard modules include a federal enterprise management module, a continuous monitoring module and an on-demand applications (ODA) capability, according to a PowerPoint presentation DHS and GSA made recently, which was obtained by Federal News Radio.
Additionally, DHS and GSA also are preparing for the first task order under phase 2 of the program. The presentation says the goal is to release the first request for quotes in the first quarter of 2016.
Phase 2 includes five services, access control management, security-related behavior management, credentials and authentication management, privileges and boundary protection.
