Defense contractor Mantech expands its government security work with the $60 million purchase of QinetiQ North America’s Security and Intelligence Solutions (S&IS).
S&IS recently won a position on a missile defense contract worth $365 million.
“This acquisition is consistent with ManTech’s long-term strategy to continue extending our presence in the defense and intelligence markets,” said ManTech Chairman and Chief Executive Officer George J. Pedersen, according to a release from Mantech.
ManTech, based in Fairfax, Va., provides technologies and solutions for “mission-critical national security programs,” according to the release.
The all-cash transaction is expected to be completed in 2011.
Mantech’s government customers include DoD, the State Department, the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Justice.
