President Barack Obama picked Kansas to win the NCAA’s men’s basketball tournament this year, beating out Ohio State for the championship. The President has Duke and Pitt as the other two teams in his Final Four. All are number 1 seeds.
Obama told ESPN’s Andy Katz he picked Kansas for the second year in a row because “Kansas has more firepower.”
The president sees matchups between Ohio State vs. North Carolina, Duke vs. UConn, Pitt vs. Florida, and Kansas vs. Purdue in the Elite Eight.
Obama is 1-1 in his tourney picks. In 2009, Obama correctly picked UNC. But he misfired in 2010, picking Kansas to win. (Duke won the championship last year.)
