The chairman of the House Veterans Affairs Committee wants to give returning vets who take classes online some parity with those who go to brick-and-mortar schools.

Rep. Bob Filner (D-Calif) says HR-950 is designed to allow veterans who take distance-learning classes online to receive housing stipends under the recently-approved GI Bill.

The measure is now being considered by the House Veterans Affairs Committee.
