July 15, 2010 — This week Federal Security Spotlight checks in with Ernest McDuffie, the leader for the National Initiative on Cyber Security Education — NICE.

This is an effort involving the Defense Department, Homeland Security, the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, and the Office of Personnel Management.

McDuffie coordinates it all from his perch at the National Institute of Standards and Technology.

He said there is a lot the government can learn from the public and vice versa.

And an important side-benefit is how NICE helps bring down stovepipes within the government.
