Electronic voting machines continue to cause problems for Election Day

Electronic voting machines had glitches on Election Day, Government Technology reports.

Voting machine glitches on Election Day have lead to questions about how trustworthy election results are, reports Government Technology.

Some glitches were caused by machines needing recalibration. Other machines are simply getting old.

In the next election, more jurisdictions will move to optical scanning where candidate selections are handwritten, so if the system fails, the votes can still be recounted.

“This method likely will provide a safer, more trustworthy outcome,” according to the article.
