2011 cyber threats: good news and bad news

January 27, 2011 — Guess what? Spam, for the first time, is on the down swing in 2011 thanks to some federal law enforcement efforts. But attacks against mobile devices – sometimes via malicious apps – are on the rise.

Those are a couple of the findings from Cisco’s 2010 Annual Security Report, which has a special section on federal issues.

Patrick Peterson, Cisco Fellow and Chief Security Officer, joins Tom Temin for this week’s Federal Security Spotlight. He described the big threats and signs of hope for the federal government.
