NextGov reports that OMB has set a Jan. 28 deadline for agencies to complete their assessments of how they handled classified information.
Where is your classified information? How do you handle it?
The DorobekINSIDER has been talking about information sharing in the age of WikiLeaks, and the Office of Management and Budget is looking at that issue too. Agencies have to report back to OMB about how they handle classified information and they only have a few weeks.
Agencies must complete their initial assessments of how they handle classified information by January 28, according to an OMB memo.
The assessments which were ordered in late November are a response to the WikiLeaks leaks.
Next Gov reports that OMB instructed agencies to review protocols for safeguarding classified and sensitive information, which required agencies to establish security assessment teams to examine how computer systems that handle classified data are configured and how access to those systems is determined.
