NIST wants input on information security

For the first time, NIST is seeking feedback on security controls for information systems in federal governnent.

For the first time, NIST wants your input as it updates guidelines on security controls.

The “Recommended Security Controls for Federal Information Systems and Organizations” document is up for review, and the New New Internet reports that the agency has opened it up for public comment.

The guidelines are used by agencies and contractors, and was first released in 2005.

Suggestions should be sent to sec-cert@nist.gov by April 29, 2011.
