What does it take to become the Federal Employee of the Year? To answer that question, we turn to the person who just received that honor: Dr. Janet Kemp. Her Veteran Suicide Prevention Hotline is saving lives on a daily basis. Up until three years ago, this service didn’t exist for the men and women in the armed services. Doctor Kemp received the Federal Employee of the Year honor last night at the annual Service to America Medal awards ceremony. She joins us now to talk about her work as part of FederalNewsRadio’s “Sammies Tracker” series. (You can hear earlier interviews on In Depth and The Daily Debrief with Dr. Kemp about her work.)
