MSPB: How to change hiring while maintaining the mission

MSPB policy and evaluation office director John Crum explains how to reform hiring while keeping workplace issues in mind.

We continue our coverage of Tuesday’s announcement on federal hiring reform. No more will managers need to sift through essays on Knowledge, Skills and Abilities — at least early in the application process. And from start to finish, filling a job should be much quicker. So how do agencies do all of this while protecting the civil service? The Merit Systems Protection Board will have a role in making that happen, and joining us to explain is MSPB policy and evaluation office director John Crum.
