Sen. Warner ‘troubled’ over JFCOM

Another Virginia lawmaker is weighing in on the proposal to close JFCOM. Democratic Senator Mark Warner has sent a letter to Defense Secretary Robert Gates expressing disappointment and frustration with the Pentagon. He says the Pentagon’s decision to close Joint Forces Command shows a lack of transparency and cooperation. That has been the argument from Senator Jim Webb and Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell. Webb is threatening to freeze high-level Pentagon promotions and hiring, and McDonnell is trying to meet with Secretary Gates.
