DISA awards contracts to Iridium

The DoD\'s Iridium EMSS Gateway serves as a dedicated portal for the uplink and downlink of voice and data traffic through Iridium satellites for DoD and other U.S.

Virginia-based Iridium Communications has won contracts from the Defense Information Systems Agency to upgrade DoD’s Enhanced Mobile Satellite Service Gateway. The EMSS modernization is three contracts worth $12.2 million. Iridium already manages the EMSS gateway, which is based in Hawaii.
