One prominent defense analyst said Boeing executives have grown pessimistic about winning the $35 billion contract.
Executives at Boeing may be growing pessimistic about their company’s chances of wining the $35-billion Air Force refueling tanker contract. Defense analyst Loren Thompson says Boeing executives worry about what they saw in bid information that was meant for their rival in the competition – EADS, reports DefenseNews. Information on bids from both companies was mistakenly switched by the Pentagon last month and ended up in the wrong hands. The Air Force says the information contained no proprietary data. But Thompson says it confirmed the proposal from EADS scored much better in a mission-effectiveness rating than Boeing’s proposal.
