A new paradigm emerges in medical research

Convergence, says MIT, will be the emerging paradigm for medical research. MIT\'s Tyler Jacks explains it for us.

Medical research takes place scattered throughout the government, academia and non-profits. Funding is equally piecemeal. But what if all that funding and all that research could be linked? Collectively it could boost effectiveness and accelerate the search for cures. The concept is called convergence. The idea is being pushed by scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. For an explanation, we spoke with Tyler Jacks, Director of the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at MIT.
