FDA opens Innovation Pathways

A priority review program for new, breakthrough medical devices is underway. FDA\'s Jonathan Sackner-Bernstein explains how it works.

The Food and Drug Administration has taken a step forward in its effort to encourage innovation in medical devices. It recently introduced the creation of the Innovation Pathway, a program that would review new medical technologies. The program is designed in part to encourage manufacturers to invest in developing innovative technology. Joining us with more information is Jonathan Sackner-Bernstein, Associate Director of Technology and Innovation at FDA’s Center for Devices and Radiological Health.
